Neben Laptops, Tablets, Autos und Fahrrädern haben allein in Deutschland bereits über 6,9 Mio. Handys die eSIM an Board. Alle Mobilfunkgeräte der aktuellen Generationen von Apple und Google unterstützen die eSIM. Auch Samsung hat in seinen aktuellen Galaxy-Modellen in allen drei Varianten die eSIM verbaut. Mit dem Motorola RAZR gibt es seit 2019 das erste reine eSIM-Smartphone. Dadurch können Millionen von Menschen eine eSIM zusätzlich nutzen.

Alle aktuellen iPhone-Modelle sind eSIM-kompatibel. Das erste eSIM-fähige iPhone auf dem deutschen Markt war das iPhone XS, welches zusammen mit dem iPhone XS Max und iPhone XR am 21. September 2018 vorgestellt wurde. Damit war Apple der erste große Smartphone-Anbieter, der auf die eSIM setzt.

Alle Pixel-Modelle der Reihen 3, 3a und 4 werden standardmäßig mit der eSIM ausgeliefert. Das Google Pixel 6 wurde im Dezember 2021 vorgestellt und ist – genau wie die Modell-Reihen 3a und 4 – auch in einer XL-Variante verfügbar. Google zählt somit zum ersten großen Hersteller eSIM-fähiger Android-Smartphones.

Samsung Smartphones mit eSIM
Seit der letzten Produktankündigung vom 11. Februar 2020 zum Galaxy ist klar: Sowohl das S20, als auch das S20+ und S20 Ultra sind eSIM-fähig. Samsung ist damit verhältnismäßig spät auf den eSIM-Zug aufgestiegen. 2018 hat Samsung mit dem Galaxy Fold ein faltbares eSIM-Smartphone vorgestellt und bietet seit kurzem auch das Galaxy Z Flip mit eSIM an.
