Die PLAZAMEDIA GmbH sorgte bei der WM 2010 für sky für das Fernsehsignal in der Innenproduktion in HD und lieferte die Live-Streams aller WM-Spiele für das sky-Online-Angebot. Die deutschen und südafrikanischen Standorte wurden via sipgate team miteinander verbunden.
Unter den Münchner Rufnummern des deutschen Standorts wurde auch das Team in Südafrika angebunden. Dafür wurde eine entsprechende Anzahl an VoIP-Telefonen im International Broadcast Center in Johannesburg und im deutschen Lager in Pretoria eingerichtet. Untereinander telefonierten die Teams via sipgate grenzübergreifend kostenlos. Toll auch: Für sky war das Südafrika-Team aufgrund der Münchner Rufnummern zum Ortstarif erreichbar.
Florian Neuhauser, Systemadministrator Broadcast-IT bei PLAZAMEDIA sagte: „Der Kosten- und Funktionsvorsprung von sipgate gegenüber anderen Lösungen ist signifikant. Buchung und Einrichtung von sipgate team waren unmissverständlich einfach“. Und weiter: „Dank der Web-Administration konnten letzte Einstellungen auch von Südafrika aus vorgenommen werden. Mit Sicherheit dürften sich bei PLAZAMEDIA für sipgate künftig weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten finden lassen.“
